Hello, my name is Trent and welcome to my blog.
Thanks for joining me!
This is a new venture for me, as I have never really utilized social media platforms. However, seeing them as very useful, and not being unfamiliar with writing, blogs seem to be a good way to outwardly process participation in experiences and knowledge worthy of a shared record. A blog is also a necessary part of the course in which I am currently enrolled: Introduction to Nonprofit Organizations.
So far the course has focused on such key topics as strategic planning, board and executive leadership, and organizational effectiveness and efficiency. These have included analysis of mission statements as a means to derive the outlook and purpose of a nonprofit. Also, reviewing policies and procedures related to management and enactment of mission have been employed to gain insight into the structure and function of nonprofit organizations. Additionally, researching and learning about the various ways in which nonprofits’ are measured and held accountable has provided an intriguing view into the operational advantages and struggles that face in attempting to achieve their goals.
Here I intend to post about the knowledge gained from, and experiences related to, the nonprofit management course. Anyone wishing to read about this chapter in my journey is welcome to do so, and for that this shall be just the place.
